Bee Swarm Attack at Cottonwood Canyon Park
A Summerlin woman and her dog were chased a quarter mile by an aggressive bee swarm at Cottonwood Canyon Park. Africanized bees are suspected. Here's what happened and what locals need to know.

Apr 11, 2026Anne Wayman and her 25-pound dog Alfie were attacked by a swarm of aggressive bees at Cottonwood Canyon Park in Summerlin. The swarm chased them a quarter mile before they reached safety. Alfie suffered 20 stings and required emergency vet care. Wayman is urging residents to be cautious on local trails.
