A new fitness club is moving closer to opening in Downtown Summerlin, adding another sports, wellness, and lifestyle destination to the West Valley.

Municipal Gym, founded by actor and entrepreneur Mark Wahlberg in partnership with EōS Fitness, is targeting an early 2027 opening near Sahara Avenue and the 215 Beltway. The project is taking shape in the former Bed Bath & Beyond space at Downtown Summerlin, although the operator has not yet published a final street address.

The club is being positioned as more than a traditional workout facility. Its planned mix of training, recovery, and community spaces is intended to serve residents who want structured fitness options close to shopping, dining, entertainment, and sports venues.

Municipal Gym details

  • Location: Downtown Summerlin, near Sahara Avenue and the 215 Beltway
  • Projected opening: Early 2027
  • Size: More than 30,000 square feet
  • Partners: Mark Wahlberg and EōS Fitness
  • Membership update: Founding memberships are expected before opening

The facility is expected to span more than 30,000 square feet. That footprint would give Municipal room for strength and conditioning areas, personal training, mobility work, and other wellness-focused amenities. Final operating details, including the complete amenity list, hours, and membership terms, should be confirmed through the club’s official website.

A recent pre-opening workout at The Lawn in Downtown Summerlin gave prospective members an early look at the brand’s approach. The session combined strength, conditioning, mobility, and functional movements, with coaches encouraging participants to adjust the intensity to their own fitness levels.

That emphasis on scalable workouts may be important for a neighborhood facility. Downtown Summerlin serves a wide range of residents, from competitive athletes to people returning to exercise or building a consistent routine. A club that offers coaching alongside open training could appeal to more than one type of member.

What is confirmed and what remains pending

The project location, projected early 2027 timeline, planned size, and partnership are publicly described. The exact opening day, final address, operating hours, complete amenity list, membership pricing, age rules, and guest policies still need to be confirmed by Municipal Gym.

The new facility will join an already active fitness and recreation environment. Downtown Summerlin is home to sports venues, restaurants, retail, and community events, while nearby Summerlin offers parks, trails, and access to Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. For members, that setting could make it easier to pair a workout with errands, a meal, or an outdoor activity.

The project’s location may also create opportunities for surrounding businesses. Fitness members often visit coffee shops, restaurants, recovery providers, salons and retail stores before or after training. The effect will depend on the club’s operating schedule, membership size, and how many people travel to Downtown Summerlin specifically for the facility.

Municipal Gym’s arrival also reflects the continued growth of Downtown Summerlin as a mixed-use district. Recent development has added office space, housing, sports facilities, and new commercial activity. A large fitness club fits into that broader pattern by bringing a service-oriented tenant that could generate regular visits throughout the week.

Residents should watch for several practical announcements as the opening approaches:

  • Founding-membership pricing and enrollment dates
  • Confirmed opening and pre-opening tour schedules
  • Age requirements and guest policies
  • Parking, entrance and access information
  • Final training, recovery and wellness amenities

The Municipal Gym website is collecting interest from people who want opening updates and access to the founding-membership process. Joining the waitlist is the clearest next step for residents who want direct notice about the membership sale. Prospective members should review the terms carefully, including any introductory rates, restrictions, cancellation requirements, and differences between membership levels.

For West Valley residents, the story is less about celebrity branding than about convenience and choice. A new gym can give neighbors another way to build healthy routines without crossing the valley, while its surrounding activity may support nearby businesses and add energy to Downtown Summerlin.

Municipal Gym is not open yet, and its final schedule and amenities remain subject to confirmation. The early 2027 target is a projection, not a guarantee, so readers should rely on official updates before making membership plans or traveling to the site.

With the project moving toward launch, Summerlin residents have a new fitness option to follow as the West Valley’s commercial and lifestyle landscape continues to develop. The next meaningful updates will be the membership announcement, final facility details, and confirmed opening date.

I went to the workout on The Lawn and liked that the coaches gave easier options. Been out of a routine for a while, so that helped.

Curious what the recovery area will actually include. If they have good mobility classes, this could be worth a look when memberships open.

I'll wait to see the membership price before getting excited. With Mark Wahlberg's name on it, I wonder how much more it'll cost than EōS.

Glad to see the old Bed Bath & Beyond space getting used again. A gym there would make it easy to work out and run errands in one trip.
