In a heartfelt announcement, the owners of Sorellina Cucina Italiana and Emilio’s Contemporary Mexican Kitchen have revealed that both establishments will close their doors on December 23, less than a year after opening. The news was shared via Sorellina’s Instagram page, expressing deep gratitude to their patrons and community.
“They were never just restaurants,” the post stated. “They were love letters to our families, our team, and this community. The current economic landscape and the realities we’re facing have made it clear that we simply don’t have the bandwidth to continue, even though our hearts desperately want to.”
The announcement also highlighted concerns for their employees, noting efforts to transition many team members into roles at their other ventures. They encouraged the community to share any job opportunities to assist their staff during this transition.
Both restaurants, located at 9742 W. Maule Ave. near South Grand Canyon Drive in southwest Las Vegas, opened in March 2025. Sorellina offered Italian cuisine inspired by the Puglia region, emphasizing farm-to-table dining with fresh, organic ingredients. Emilio’s provided a modern take on Mexican dishes, focusing on vibrant flavors and healthier options by using seed-free oils.
The closures reflect the challenges faced by many in the restaurant industry amid economic uncertainties. Despite these setbacks, Refined Hospitality, the group behind these establishments, continues to operate other popular Las Vegas spots, including Café Lola, Saint Honoré Doughnuts & Beignets, Pizza Anonymous, and 3 Little Chicks.
As the Las Vegas dining scene evolves, the community remains hopeful for future culinary ventures that will continue to enrich the city’s vibrant food culture. |
