Giving Machine Returns to Downtown Summerlin Nov. 12 |
Five local organizations are listed, but participating pages show different event dates |

The Giving Machine returns to Downtown Summerlin for the holiday season, with five local organizations among its listed beneficiaries. It gives west-side residents a way to support a cause while shopping or meeting friends. The posted dates do not match across organizer pages, so check them before making plans.
Dates, location and hours
The official Downtown Summerlin listing schedules the machine at The Promenade from Nov. 12, 2026, through Jan. 3, 2027. Lifting Hands International, one of the international beneficiaries, lists the Summerlin location from Nov. 11 through Jan. 2.
That is a one-day difference at both ends of the event window. Check both pages before visiting, especially if you plan to go near opening or closing dates.
The event listing gives the start time as “Regular DTS Hours” and names The Promenade, but does not provide a daily schedule for the machine. Check Downtown Summerlin’s current hours and watch for holiday changes.
The Promenade is an outdoor area within Downtown Summerlin, so the machine can fit into a shopping, dining or seasonal outing. The listing does not give a more exact point within the center; contact the venue if you need an accessible route or placement details.
How the Giving Machine works
The Giving Machine is a charitable vending display. Visitors choose a listed item or service and make a donation connected to a participating organization.
The official event page names five local beneficiaries:

Three international organizations are also listed: Clubfoot Solutions, African Hope for Girls and Lifting Hands International. The display names the available gifts, so read the description to see which organization receives the selected contribution.
The local list covers several needs. Three Square focuses on hunger relief, Foster Kinship supports relatives and trusted adults raising children, and Future Smiles provides school-based dental care.
Two other named partners serve different needs: Helping Hands of Vegas Valley supports older adults, while Catholic Charities offers food and housing services in Southern Nevada. These are broad descriptions of each organization’s work, not a breakdown of the individual gifts available from the machine.
The display is the source for each specific selection and its cost. A Giving Machine can make a holiday contribution more specific than choosing a general amount, but the program’s descriptions should guide what each donation represents.
Parents can invite children to compare the causes and choose an option together. Keep that conversation grounded in the information shown rather than assuming every gift has the same cost or impact.
Donation amounts can differ by selection, so decide what fits your budget before tapping through. The amount displayed next to the item should guide your final choice.
If you are considering recurring support or want to give beyond the event dates, the organization’s own site can explain its other options. The machine’s short descriptions are useful, but they do not replace a nonprofit’s full program information or donation instructions.
Review any terms shown before confirming a contribution. If you need a receipt or have a question about processing, follow the instructions provided by the machine or contact the program organizer. |

Before you go
If you have a particular organization in mind, check the current event page to make sure it remains listed before you go.
Friends can stop by before dinner, coworkers can make it part of a seasonal outing, and families can pair the visit with shopping or a meal. Leave time to read the machine’s descriptions if you are choosing among several causes.
For WVS readers, the useful steps are simple: verify the dates, check venue hours and read the display before selecting a gift. That keeps the visit straightforward and helps direct your contribution to the cause you intend. |

I’m glad Foster Kinship is included, though I wish the listing showed what donations you can choose before you get there. It would make planning easier.
Robert MillsAgreed. Even a photo of the options would help people decide what they can give before heading over.
We’re glad to see Foster Kinship included, too. The event listing names the beneficiaries but doesn’t show the donation choices, so checking with the organizer before you go may help with planning.
Love seeing Three Square and Future Smiles on the list. It’s nice to have a way to support local groups while we’re already at Downtown Summerlin.
