THE STORIES SHAPING SUMMERLIN.

Red Rock Resort's food court has a refreshed lineup that gives Summerlin residents three familiar names in one place: Good Pie, Randy's Donuts and With Love, Always. The makeover was highlighted in Eater Vegas's August 2026 restaurant guide.

Good Pie brings its reputation for Sicilian, Detroit and Grandma-style pizza from the Arts District. The west-side counter gives diners another way to try the brand without heading downtown, though specific pies and menu items may vary by location.

Randy's Donuts adds a bakery and dessert option. The Southern California brand has expanded around Las Vegas, and the Red Rock location is part of that growth. Check the day's selection if you're looking for a particular doughnut.

With Love, Always is a local smash-burger concept serving burgers, shoestring fries and soft serve. Its loaded fries are among the menu items noted by Eater. Together, the three counters offer different choices for casual meals and snacks.

There's more to Downtown Summerlin than shops and restaurants. Beneath The Pavilion near Banana Republic, Tony Tasset's colorful Mood Sculpture gives visitors a public-art stop with an unexpected message about emotions.

The sculpture was introduced locally in May 2024 in connection with Mental Health Awareness Month. Summerlin's original announcement explains the community context, including the involvement of Summerlin Hospital Medical Center.

The stacked faces draw on familiar smiley-face imagery but show a range of expressions. Children may enjoy identifying the moods, while adults can consider the artwork's larger theme: different feelings are part of ordinary life, and there is room for them in a shared community.

The official attraction listing places the sculpture under The Pavilion by Banana Republic. It is a convenient stop for residents already spending time in Downtown Summerlin, rather than a ticketed show with a fixed start time.

“The Mental Health Awareness Month connection is thoughtful, though I wonder how many people notice it without a sign explaining the faces.”

Summerlin's Great Pumpkin Patch returns to Trails Park on October 15–16, 2026, from 5 to 8 p.m. The Summerlin Council's neighborhood event brings pumpkins, crafts, animals and fall-themed activities to 1910 Spring Gate Lane.

Families can explore the Great Pumpkin Trail, including a petting zoo, animal touch table, face painting at Scarecrow Station, a character encounter and Pumpkin Picasso crafts. The mix offers younger children several ways to enjoy an evening outdoors without traveling across Las Vegas.

Pumpkins cost $7 each, limited to one per household member while supplies last. Advance ticket sales ended October 12. Walk-up purchasing and remaining inventory are not confirmed, so families without pre-purchased tickets should contact the organizer before going.

Pre-purchased pumpkin tickets may be picked up at Trails Community Center beginning at 10 a.m. on the event dates. Check whether identification or a confirmation is required and verify parking, accessibility and any activity-specific fees.

🐾 Pup of the Week

A LITTLE TIME. A BIG TAIL WAG.

Meet Lucy, an eight-week-old black-and-white female puppy listed at The Animal Foundation in Las Vegas. Her shelter record identifies her as A1441212, with a weight of four pounds and an adoption fee currently listed at $250.

Lucy arrived on October 9, 2026, with a stray intake classification. Her public profile does not confirm a breed, personality traits or future adult size. Those are important questions for an adoption counselor, not details anyone should guess from a photograph.

Because Lucy is only eight weeks old, prospective adopters should prepare for house-training, supervised chewing, regular feeding, veterinary appointments, and safe early socialization. A puppy needs time, consistency, and a household ready for the daily work of raising a young dog.

Interested? Review Lucy's latest shelter profile and mention animal ID A1441212 when contacting the shelter. If she has already found a home, the adoption directory lists other animals who may be a match.

“I wouldn’t worry too much about Lucy’s breed right now. I’d rather hear what staff have seen when they handle her, since her profile doesn’t…”

LOCAL FOOD NEWS

Hedary’s Mediterranean is back in Las Vegas. The Lebanese restaurant celebrated its grand opening October 2, 2026, at The Gramercy in southwest Las Vegas, bringing a familiar local restaurant name to a new address.

The family’s story began in Beirut in 1960 and later moved to Texas. Frank Hedary opened a Las Vegas restaurant on West Sahara Avenue in 2004. His sister Mariz Khoury now leads the new location, continuing the family's local dining history, as documented by the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Food is the draw. Hedary’s highlights freshly baked pita from an open kitchen, along with hummus, baba ghanoush, falafel and other mezze. The signature Frarej combines baked chicken with potatoes, carrots, garlic and lemon. A Dinner for Two offers a broader introduction to the menu.

Whether you remember the original Hedary’s or are discovering it for the first time, the reopening gives southwest Las Vegas diners another option for a shared Lebanese meal. Visit the official restaurant website for the latest menu, ordering information and contact details.

“Has anyone ordered the Frarej yet? Garlic and lemon chicken sounds great, but I'm wondering if the half chicken is enough to share.”

Cooler mornings and bright afternoon sun can leave skin feeling dry. Keep it simple: apply a gentle moisturizer while skin is slightly damp, then finish with broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher before heading out—even when the weather feels like fall.

Tiny upgrade: stash lip balm and a travel-size hand cream in your bag for coffee runs and weekend strolls. See the American Academy of Dermatology’s sunscreen guidance for more tips.
