October at The Resort at Summerlin is packed with food, wine, live music and seasonal specials, giving west valley residents plenty of reasons to make a night of it close to home.

The month’s biggest draw is the Fall Wine Walk on Oct. 17, a three-hour tasting event spread across the resort’s grounds with more than 10 wine stations, chef-crafted bites and live entertainment.

General admission is $75 and runs from 6 to 9 p.m., while a $100 VIP option opens at 5 p.m. with an early welcome tasting and additional premium pours.

The event is designed as a walking tasting experience, beginning at Wineaux before moving through the Zen Walk and into The Neighborhood Food Hall.

Guests can expect wine selections from participating partners, bites from Hawthorn Grill and other resort restaurants, plus live music continuing later into the evening.

Wine fans have another date to circle on Oct. 28, when Wineaux Wednesday returns from 5 to 7 p.m. with an American Harvest tasting flight.

The featured four-wine flight is $45 per person and explores bottles from New York’s Finger Lakes, California’s Sonoma Coast and Oregon’s Willamette Valley.

For locals who prefer dinner over a tasting event, October also brings several food-focused specials.

Wineaux is offering a monthlong Bottle & Board anniversary special, pairing a bottle of wine with charcuterie and cheese starting at $50 while supplies last.

At ai Pazzi, the monthly prix fixe menu runs through late December, with a three-course lineup built around seasonal starters, entrées and dessert.

Other ongoing options include happy hour at several resort restaurants, a pizza-and-beer combo at ai Pazzi Pizza and game-day food offers during football season.

Live music fills out the October calendar with rotating performers appearing on Friday and Saturday nights.

Cool Change is scheduled for Oct. 9 and Oct. 24, The Klique Band plays Oct. 10 and Oct. 17, SJ & the Ruckus Duo appears Oct. 16, and DnD Project closes the month on Oct. 30 and Halloween night.

Most of those evening sets begin around 7 p.m., making them easy to pair with dinner or drinks elsewhere on the property.

Another hands-on option arrives Oct. 18 with Nom Wah’s Dumpling Making Class and Sauce Pairing, scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m.

The class adds a different kind of experience to a calendar that otherwise leans heavily toward nightlife, dining and tastings.

That variety is what makes the resort’s October lineup useful for Summerlin residents.

You can build a full evening around one ticketed event, drop in for live music after dinner, or simply take advantage of one of the monthlong restaurant promotions.

The practical move is to check the resort’s current event calendar before heading over, because individual promotions have different dates, hours, age requirements and reservation rules.

For the Wine Walk in particular, guests should bring a valid government-issued photo ID, expect to be on their feet, and know that the event is scheduled to run rain or shine.

With wine tastings, live bands, dining specials and a dumpling class all on the schedule, October offers one of the busier event months of the year at The Resort at Summerlin.
