While Las Vegas may not be known for cherry blossoms, the city offers a vibrant taste of Japanese culture each spring.
The Kizuna Japanese Society is set to host its 9th Annual Haru Matsuri, or Japanese Spring Festival, on Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Sammy Davis Jr. Festival Plaza in Lorenzi Park.
This free event invites the community to celebrate spring the Japanese way.
Attendees can immerse themselves in traditional Japanese culture through a variety of activities. Experience the powerful rhythms of live taiko drum performances, participate in an open-air tea ceremony (Nodate), and don a summer kimono for a memorable photo opportunity. The festival also features interactive cultural booths showcasing calligraphy, origami, martial arts demonstrations, and more.
Culinary delights are a highlight of the festival. Local vendors will serve an array of Japanese dishes, including takoyaki, crispy karaage (Japanese fried chicken), shaved ice, and sweet mochi. For those over 21, a sake and wine tasting area offers a chance to explore traditional Japanese beverages.
The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 4, 2026. Please note that pets are not allowed in the plaza, so it's best to leave them at home. Gather your friends and family to celebrate spring the Japanese way at this vibrant community event. |
