Halloween season is almost here, and Summerlin already has a full calendar of family friendly ways to celebrate.
From a downtown parade to neighborhood trunk or treat nights, October offers several easy options for families who want candy, costumes, music, and a little spooky fun without driving across the valley.
Downtown Summerlin's Parade of Mischief returns for eight nights along Park Centre Drive. The free parade begins at 6 p.m. on October 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, and 24.
More than 60 local youth performers will appear in floats and performances inspired by Wicked, Cruella, Hocus Pocus, The Addams Family, Dia de los Muertos, and other Halloween favorites. The atmosphere is festive instead of frightening, which makes it an easy pick for younger kids.

Faith Community Lutheran Church Trunk or Treat
Faith Community Lutheran Church hosts its eighth annual citywide Trunk or Treat on Friday, October 16, from 5 to 8 p.m. at 3505 S. Town Center Drive.
Admission is free. Kids can collect candy from decorated car trunks, and the evening also includes games, music, and food available for purchase.

Skellington's Spooktacular at Tivoli Village
Tivoli Village hosts Skellington's Spooktacular on Friday, October 23, from 5 to 9 p.m.
Families can collect candy at the trunk or treat, listen to live music, shop the Makers Hive Market, meet Jack and Sally, and stay for an outdoor showing of The Nightmare Before Christmas after sunset.
Parade of Mischief is also scheduled that evening at 6 p.m., so families hoping to do both will want to plan parking and timing in advance.
